Ultrasound Technician Programs

Ultrasound Technicians are also called as the diagnostic medical sonographers and are the medical professionals who are responsible to administer the medical tests which are using the sound waves for producing the images of internal structure within the patient's body. Ultrasound technician course is offered by most of the institutes in US and the demand for the technician course program has grown rapidly over the past few years. The institutes will prepare its students for attending the examination which is necessary for getting the voluntary certification in ultrasound technology fields.

 

St. Catharine College:

The institute was started in the year 1931 and is located in Kentucky. More than 700 students are studying in this private institute and the college grants associate degree certification in the ultrasound technician field. The programs offered by the institute will allow the student to get specialization in the general ultrasound, vascular ultrasound and cardiac ultrasound.  The time period for completing the program is 21 months and the classes include physics, psychology, algebra and composition.  During the 3rd semester programs the students will have to spend about 32 hours a week in the clinical setting for working directly with the patients. State and federal financial support is offered to the eligible students in the institute to support the cost of the tuitions.

Bellevue College:

The institute is situated in Bellevue in Washington and is a 2 year public institute with more than 5,700 students. For getting enrollment in the college programs the students must complete the prerequisite classes in various subjects like medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, sociology, bioethics, physics, mathematics and English. The program offered by the institute cover cardiac and general ultrasound and it requires a time period of 2 years to complete the course. The students will generally participate in 4 clinical rotations in the entire course that is offered by the college.  Veteran's benefits along with the state, federal loan and the grant loan are advantageous to the students.

The institute was started in the year 1926 and is located in Tyler in Texas.  The college offers programs in the field of ultrasound technology and the time period to complete the course is 2 years. The curriculum includes 4 clinical rotations and it focuses on the general ultrasound technology.
